Dooley, Mary Virginia Broome (Summerville)

Mary Virginia Broome Dooley, 90, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Dooley was born May 29, 1925, in Summerville, the daughter of the late Smith Jefferson Broome  and  Annie Octavia Kinsey Dooley.  She was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Riegel Textiles.  She was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Dooley.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Pauline Dooley, Melvin and Gail Dooley, sisters, Minnie Meek, Ann Bobo, and Clair Bell Dawson; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dooley will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Landon Reynolds, Ryan Wilson, Jim Dooley, Tim Dooley, Buford Fox, and Kenny Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Grace Sunday School Class of the Dry Valley Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Dooley will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Dry Valley Baptist Church.
