Powers, Harold "Bud"

Harold “Bud” Powers, 85, of Chattanooga, died at home on Monday, May 30, 2016.

Bud was born in Anamosa, Iowa and served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was retired from Ripley Apparel in Ripley, W.V. Bud and his wife, moved to Chattanooga in 1992 and they are members of Abba’s House in Hixson.   

Bud is survived by his wife of 45 years, Opal V. Powers; three children, Diane (Paul) Blankenship, Linda (Kenny) Fisher, and Bobby Powers; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Winters.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday and12-1 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A celebration of Bud’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel with Pastor Ron Phillips officiating.  Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abba’s House, 5208 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
