Bradley County Sheriff's Office Releases Results Of Memorial Day Weekend Saturation

  • Tuesday, May 31, 2016

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office conducted a special saturation during the Memorial Day weekend to combat impaired and reckless driving.

Additional patrols were implemented in order to keep citizens safe on the roads during one of the busiest weekends of the year. The saturation started on Friday at 12 a.m. and ended Tuesday, at 12 a.m.

Sheriff Eric Watson said, "The goal of this weekend’s saturation was to minimize the number and severity of traffic accidents over the Memorial Day weekend. Deputies were positioned across the Bradley County area in order to prevent, detect, and apprehend impaired or reckless drivers on the roadways. Fortunately, this area didn’t experience any fatal accidents during the holiday weekend. The hard-working men and women from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office should be commended for their hard-work during the Memorial Day weekend.”

Listed below are the results from this weekend’s saturation:

Arrests:

· Six felony arrests

· Eight narcotic arrests

· Two D.U.I. arrests

· 52 misdemeanor arrests

Seizures:

· Four handguns were seized. One of the four handguns seized was reported stolen earlier this year.
