Clarence L. “Skip” Fennewald, M.D., 65, of Hixson, died on Monday, May 2, 2016.  
Born on Oct. 6, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo., he graduated from the University of Missouri and went on to the Columbia School of Medicine and became a board certified dermatologist.  He had a successful dermatology practice in Hixson, for over 30 years.
Skip was a volunteer scuba diver at the Tennessee Aquarium, lifetime member of the NRA; true fan of the only Real Tiger Team “Mizzou” in the SEC and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  He was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he was a founding member of Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Clarence Fennewald; sister, Rose Becherer, brother, Frank Fennewald, and his companion dog Holly.
Skip is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Brenda; nephews, Thomas (Barbara) Becherer, Michael (Cheryl) Becherer, Joe (Jennifer) Becherer; nieces, Mary (Rick) Davis and Anne Becherer; Godchildren, Matt (Mary) Givens, Brigid Doherty, Colin (Becky) Doherty.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, with Father Charles Burton officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to McKamey Animal Shelter or to the Ronald McDonald House.
