Charles E. McArthur, 86, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

He was born in Nashville, to the late Joe and Margaret McArthur.  Charles served our country in the United States Navy. He retired from Combustion Engineering and was a truck driver after his retirement.  He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.    

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Clara S. McArthur; and a brother, Joe McArthur.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda McArthur, and Jan Albert; brothers, Bill McArthur and Horace Haston. 

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Charles will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel with Pastor Diane Stoker officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made in Charles’ name to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 4791 Hal Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416 or to Tree Lakes Endowment Fund, 2215 73rd Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
