Fredine Thomas
Fredine Catchings Thomas, 90, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at her residence.
She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ralph Thomas; parents, Willie and Vashti Catchings; sister, Willie Ruth Crutcher; brothers, Charles and Robert Catchings.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Heyward, Deborah (James) Garner both of Chattanooga, and Beverly (Hugh) Polk of Owings Mills, MD; stepdaughter, Juanita Thompson; grandchildren, Wayne (Shea) Jefferson, Jr., Corey Jefferson, Latonia Polk, and Hugh Polk, II; great-grandchildren, Savion and Maria Jefferson; 10 step-grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren; 58 step-great-great-grandchildren; aunt, Frankie Gibbs of Miami, FL; nieces, Natasha Crutcher; nephews, Anthony (Gwendolyn) Crutcher, Eugene Crutcher, and Lawanza Crutcher, all of Chattanooga; great-nieces, Alia, Sadiqua, and Rickell Crutcher; special friends, Eloise Merritt, Inez Pankey, Laverne Major; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Sunday, June 26, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Anthony Crutcher as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
