Woman Found Dead At College Hill Courts Was Strangled; Funeral Set Wednesday

A woman found dead at the College Hill Courts on July 4 was strangled, according to the autopsy report.

Family members found the body after checking on 23-year-old Aisha Lebrea Bearden.

She had not been seen for several days.

The victim had several cuts on her head and neck and a ligature mark across her neck.

She is survived by a large extended family.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at Rock Island Baptist Church, Camden Street, Chattanooga, with Pastor Steven Bearden and other  ministers officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. 

Her remains will lie in state on Tuesday at Hardwick and Sons Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton.
