See Rock City Barn Legacy Lives On

Sign painters completed a barn repaint at Cross the Creek Farm near Maryville, Tn., maintained by See Rock City (SRC), Inc. With only 62 SRC barns still remaining from the original 900, this landmark barn has now been given a fresh coat of paint for travelers to enjoy.

The barn had originally been painted by Clark Byers when he was still the official sign painter for SRC. Mr. Byers began his barn painting career in 1935 after the instruction of advertising genius, Garnet Carter, Rock City’s founder.
