Arthur J. Bookout, 88, of Harrison, Tennessee, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Mr. Bookout was born in Chatsworth, GA on February 12, 1928 to the late Jesse J. and Elizabeth (Caylor) Bookout. He served in the US Army 101st Airborne in Europe during the post war occupation. Arthur retired from Chattanooga Glass Company with 30 years of service. He was married to Jean Crowe for 50 years before her death in 2009.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Lynn (David); sons, Terry Bookout (Connie), Tim Bookout, and Phil Bookout; grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Carmen Hall, Dustin Bookout, Amy Davis, and Candace Wilburn; great-grandson, Baylor Hall; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 2-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The Bookout family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Life Care Center of Ooltewah for the love and care given to Arthur during his time there.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
