James, Zan Ray

Zan Ray James, 83, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Thursday, August 25, 2016.

A native of Harrell, Ar., he had lived in the Ringgold area for the past 26 years and was formerly of Cross City, Fl. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired employee of Shaw Industries and was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church.

Zan was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie H. James; second wife, Mary E. James; parents, Joseph Davidson and Bertha Bell Rigby James; two brothers, Byron and Huey James and sister, Rubydell James.

He is survived by his daughter, Raydell Dykes of Fort Oglethorpe, and four grandchildren, Mitchell James, Jackson Dykes, Emily Dykes and Abigail Dykes, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 3-8 p.m. and Monday, from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
