Fowler, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Ward (Dalton)

Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Ward Fowler, 83, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. Herman and Mary Knight Ward; and was also preceded in death by her husband Clifford Fowler; and a brother Ron Ward, Sr.

Mary was a devoted member of First Church of the Nazarene. Her life revolved around her church. She taught Children’s Sunday School, played the organ and sang in the choir. Mary was a volunteer at Hamilton Medical Center. She always had a heart for the needy, never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. Her last job was at Cross Roads High School, where she adored all the children and staff.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Fowler of Dalton and Art and Mary Fowler of Dahlonega; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Mark Amspaugh officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. After the burial at West Hill the family will gather back at the Church's Fellowship Hall.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday from 3-4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hearts for the Children Ministry c/o First Church of the Nazarene, 2325 Chattanooga Rd Dalton, Ga 30720.
