Kohl Stewart was masterful tonight for the Chattanooga Lookouts, only allowing two runs in eight innings in the Lookouts 3-2 win over the Jacksonville Suns.

Stewart stumbled early out of the gate, allowing the first run of the game in the second inning, but from that point on was dialed in.

Stewart picked up the win to move to 6-5 with eight innings of solid work.

Stewart struck out just two and walked four, and gave up seven hits, including a home run, but gave up just two runs. The righty's eight inning performance was his longest of the season and he has now won four out of his last five games.

Jacksonville starter Matt Tomshaw (2-3) took the loss, allowing three runs in his five plus innings of work on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

Brian Anderson gave Jacksonville an early 1-0 lead when he led off the top of the second with a solo home run over the right center field wall.

The Suns maintained that lead going into the bottom of the sixth

Levi Michael led off the sixth with a triple and Zack Granite was hit-by-a-pitch to put two on for Engelb Vielma who hit a sacrifice bunt to plate Michael. Both Granite and Vielma proceded to score on the next play when Niko Goodrum smacked a single to center field.

The score remained 3-1 until the eighth when the Suns tacked on one more run.

Lookouts reliever Jake Reed entered in the top of the ninth and collected a 1-2-3 inning for his third save of the season.
