3 People Shot On Dodson Avenue; Suspect Taken Into Custody

Three people were shot on Dodson Avenue early Sunday morning, and a suspect was later taken into custody. The victims were identified as Reece Cosby, 31, Lontiasha Burress, 20, and a 17-year-old female.

Shortly before 10 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 2600 block of Dodson Avenue concerning reports of a shooting. Police secured the area and located a crime scene.

Police found that three people were injured due to gunshot wounds during the incident. All injuries are reportedly non-life threatening.

All victims were transported to the hospital via personally-owned vehicles.

Police said at this time no credible suspect description has been provided to police.

The suspect vehicle was described as a newer Chevy Impala (tan or gray) with dark tinted windows.

During this timeframe a second incident occurred involving Chattanooga Police and individuals believed to be related to the Dodson Avenue shooting.

A vehicle believed to be related to the shooting was observed in the area by police near the crime scene. When officers approached the vehicle, the driver immediately fled with the vehicle.

Police initiated a pursuit of the vehicle. The pursuit ended on Highway 58 with a suspect taken into custody at 10:49 a.m.
