Gribler Earns Conference Defender Of The Week For Lee Women's Soccer

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lee women’s soccer goalkeeper Haley Gribler has been named the Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week after two stellar performances in goal for the Lady Flames this past week.

On Wednesday the Springboro, Ohio native limited the No. 1 team in the country Columbus State to just one goal while recording five saves as the Lady Flames knocked off the Cougars, 2-1.

Gribler would come right back on Sunday night against the defending GSC champions, North Alabama and post a clean sheet with three saves to help Lee secure a 1-0 victory on a late goal by Suzanne Arant.

The junior is currently 2-1-1 on the year with 16 saves and a 0.47 goals against average. The Lady Flames as team have given up just two goals in six matches this season and are 4-1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Gribler and the Lady Flames will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to Rome, Ga. to battle rival Shorter University at 1 p.m.
