Brenda Carter
Brenda E. Watkins Carter, 64, of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 19, 1952, in Chattanooga to Robert Lewis Watkins, Sr. and Valeria Jo Howell. She was employed and retired from the Department of Children’s Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lewis Watkins, Sr., Valeria Jo Howell-Watkins, twin sister, Bernella Elaine Watkins, and grandson, Malachi A. Collins.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharonda Brown-Spence (Sam) and Monica Carter; three grandchildren, Ryan C. Brown, Jr., Malorie Carter-Hardy, and Madalyn Carter; brothers, Robert Watkins, Jr. (Bobby), Kenneth (Kathy) Watkins, and Daniel (Penny) Watkins; stepmother, Ella Mae Taylor; devoted aunt, Juanita Haywood; and uncle, Curtis Watkins; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, Sept. 29, at noon at Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Bullard as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
