U.S. Marine Veteran Served 2 Tours In Vietnam

Michael Philip Roberts, 65, of Harrison, and formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in a Nashville hospital. 

He was a retired truck driver and member of the NRA. Michael was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean; mother, Bettye Baker and father, J. P. Roberts.

He is survived by his brothers, James (Martha) and Steven Roberts, both of Harrison; step brothers, Raymond and Calvin Baker, of Houston, Texas; step sisters, Linda and Joyce Baker, Lois Halwell and Mary Jane Best, all of Houston; seven nieces and one nephew.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 27, from 1-4 p.m. in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Norma in a private service in National Cemetery in Houston.
