Alvey, Doris Allene "Susie" (Dayton)

Doris Allene “Susie” Alvey, 58, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Erlanger.

She was born in Rhea County, on Nov. 12, 1958, to the late Woodrow Sligh and Myrtle (Smith) Sligh Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her step-father Charlie Hunter and her two brothers Roy Sligh and Bill Sligh. 

Susie was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker who loved horses and dogs and lived all of her life in Dayton.

She is survived by her husband Randy Alvey, Sr., son Randy (Joann) Alvey, Jr., sister Mary Crowe and two grandchildren, James Alvey and Emily Alvey, all of Dayton.

Funeral services for Susie will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Clarence Gore officiating. She will be laid to rest in Spence Cemetery.
