Hazel Swafford, 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at the residence.

She was the daughter of the late Sherman and Josie Verner and was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Wiley, Sherman Verner Jr. and Kerment Verner, her sisters, Gennie Vee Herron, Helen Swafford, Mattie Lou Anderson, Alice Bowen and Jeanette Vineyard. Mrs. Swafford was a long time member of Mt. Olive Church of God.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Swafford, her son, Dameion Swafford, her daughters, Elawana Swafford and Tonya Brewer; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Elsie Head and her husband, Marvin and Debra Long along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Pastor Gary Sears and Reverend Bud Swallows officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
