Mrs. Doris Ruth Ohst Russell age 76, of LaFayette, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 30, 2017. She was born in Chickamauga to the late Harold and Bertha Jane Millican Ohst. She was a lifelong resident of the LaFayette area and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of Gordon Lake Wesleyan Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Sherman Russell, son: David Russell, daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Tim Powell, grandson: Adam Powell, brother: Franklin Ohst.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Bobby Lang, daughter-in-law: Yvette Russell, sister: JoAnn Stanfield all of LaFayette, brother: Harold Ohst, Jr., of Ringgold, grandchildren: Kelli (Clinton) Gard of Chickamauga, Rebekah Russell of LaFayette, Jessica Simmons, great-grandchildren: Elijah Dobson, Emma Phy, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday morning after 10 a.m. until the funeral. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 in the chapel with Pastors David Cobb and Jay Neal officiating. Burial will be at LaFayette Memory Gardens, LaFayette.
