Helen C. Gladden, age 88, of LaFayette passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette and the Ellis-Walraven Sunday School Class. Helen retired with over 30 years of service as a switchboard operator for the CDC  in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Gladden and Maude DeBord Gladden; sister, Anne Hammontree; and brother, Max Gladden.

She is survived by her beloved nieces, Marsha (Bart) Carter, Jennifer (Dewayne) Hardin both of Chickamauga, and Dana (Tommy) Hitchcox of Chattanooga, and family.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Dr. Todd Gaddis officiating.

Interment will be in LaFayette City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bart Carter, Dewayne Hardin, Tommy Hitchcox, Kenny McGill, Billy Callahan, Breck Parker, and Mark Hixon.

Visitation will be on Monday from 12 p.m. until hour of service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
