Longtime Hixson Resident Worked For Dixie Yarns And The Hixson Post Office

Eva Pearl Sanders Hamill, 85, of Soddy Daisy, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, November 3, 2017.

Eva was born in Fackler, Al. to the late Foster Sanders, Sr. and Dora Venable Sanders.  She grew up in Stevenson, Al., was a resident of the Hixson area for 37 years and has been a resident of the Soddy Daisy area for the past 33 years. Eva worked at Dixie Yarns and the Hixson Post Office for 27 years where she retired.  She was an avid gardener, loved to can vegetables and enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends. Eva loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, and also enjoyed watching them play ball.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Glenn Hamill; sisters, Laura Sanders and Estell Kelley; grandson, Stephen Glenn Green.

Eva is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Steve) Green; grandsons, Joshua (Nicole) Green and Colton (Samantha) Green; granddaughter, Samantha Green; great grandsons, Bryce and Griffin Green; great granddaughter, Lucy Green; brothers, Levoy (Janice) Sanders and Foster (Pat) Sanders; several nieces and nephews; uncle, Pleasant Sanders.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, and 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Eva will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Reverend Angie McGregor officiating. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn.
