Pollinator Garden Event Set For April 8

  • Friday, March 10, 2017

The Conservation Committee of Chickamauga Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will co-host a pollinator garden educational event with The Barn Nursery in their classroom facility (the building near the pottery sales) on Saturday, April 8.  There will be two sessions, 11 a.m.-12  p.m. and 3-4 p.m.

The purpose of the event is to educate the public concerning the importance of pollinator plants to promote the health of bees, butterflies and the beneficial insects necessary to the health of the environment and for food production success. This class will be of interest to home gardeners and educators. Ideas for garden areas will be included.

Providing necessary pollinator plants may be accomplished in small patio containers as well as larger home landscape and vegetable garden areas.

The event is free, but registration is requested so that adequate materials will be available for attendees.  Call The Barn Nursery at 698-2267 to register.  The Barn Nursery is at 1801 E 24th St.
