Mary E. Wood, 87, of Athens, Tennessee, died on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Starr Regional  Medical Center surrounded by her family. 

She will be dearly missed and was loved deeply by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lawanda & Bob Ramos of Athens; grandchildren, Sean and spouse Sarah Ramos and Jennifer and spouse Kent McCowan, all of Athens;  great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ethan & Noah Ramos (Children of Sean Ramos), Katie & Kyle McCowan (Children of Jennifer McCowan); step-grandchildren, Luke, Saragrace and Bethany Plunkett (step-children of Sean & Sara Ramos); great-great-grandchild, Kimbrea Torbett (daughter of Ashley Ramos); one sister, Corlee Daugherty of Oliver Springs; two nieces, Mary & Nancy; step-grandchild, Brenda Rhoades; and step-great-grandchildren, Kayla & Cameron Rhoades.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. David Peters officiating.

There will be no formal visitation.

Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah is in charge of the arrangements.
