Leonard Joseph Gray, Jr., 70, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

He was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church. Leonard served his country and was proud of his service in the U.S. Air Force. He was the commander of the American Legion Jim King Post 107. Leonard worked as a Senior Service Tech with Steris Company. A very active father and grandfather, he loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard J. Gray, Sr. and Lillian Gray and granddaughter, Angel Long. 

Survivors include his wife, Gloria “McGee” Gray; sons, Brian Gray (Susan) and Leonard J. Gray, III (Alisha); daughters, Laura Long and Candy Pendergrass (Charlie); grandchildren, Talyn Gray, A.J. Long, Zachary Long, JéAnna Long, Kaiden Gray, Kylie Gray, Brayden Gray, Cammie Pendergrass and Kingston Gray; sisters Marilyn Sepe and Lillian Cozzoli. 

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, at Hixson United Methodist Church from 5-7 p.m., followed by a service at 7 p.m. with Senior Pastor Reed Shell officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 1, at 2:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 95 Honor Guard.
