Mary “Frances” Sinor, 88, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, May 25.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1928, in Fairmount, Ga., and grew up in Eton, Ga., before graduating from Murray County High School. She married Ray Sinor in 1950 and they remained married for 54 years prior to his death.

During her life, she was involved in many activities, including ballroom dancing, oil painting, and her involvement (along with Ray) in mental health advocacy.

She was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart and Madge Green; her husband, Ray Sinor; and her sister, Sue Welch.

Survivors include her son, Steve Sinor of Chattanooga; son, Barry Sinor of Cumming, GA; son, Tim (Tammy) Sinor of Chattanooga; grandsons, Matthew Sinor and Colt Sinor.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 29, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Steven Granger officiating. The burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
