James Denton

James Delon Denton Jr., 58, of East Ridge, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at a local hospital.

He was a member of the Spring Creek Church of God and worked for 17 years with Bi-Lo and five years with Marriott Hotel. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and a volunteer firefighter with the East Ridge Fire Department and the Highway 58 Fire Department.

He is survived by his sons, Jamie Denton III and Jon Denton, both of Chattanooga.

He is survived by his parents, J.D. and Toney Abbott Denton of East Ridge, brother, Jeff (Laura) Denton of Chattanooga, fiancée, Kathy Daugherty of East Ridge, grandchildren, Jacob and Claire Simpson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Bennie Mills and Reverend Don Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. 

Family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. 

The family would like to thank Stephen and the special nurses with CICU at Erlanger Medical Center.
