Trustee/Clerk And Master Tax Sales Expected To Go Online

  • Wednesday, May 31, 2017

A back tax sale set for Thursday at the County Courthouse by the trustee and clerk and master may be the last "live" auction.

Trustee Bill Hullander said it is expected that the auction next year will be online.

He said he spoke with officials in Memphis, who said they are getting higher prices for parcels as well as more offers since going online.

There is a much wider audience with the online version than those who just show up in person at the auction, he noted.

Mr. Hullander said he and Clerk and Master Robin Miller are seeking requests for proposals for a firm to handle the auction.

The sale involves parcels with the 2013 taxes still owing.

The county real property department handles a separate back tax sale.
