George Henry
George "Ed" Henry, 97, of LaFayette, passed away at his home on Monday, June 26, 2017.
He was of the Church of Christ faith. Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Henry; sons, George Jerry Henry and Larry Donnovan Henry; parents, George Henry and Matty Wilson Henry; brothers, Ralph, Chester, Bill, and Lee Henry; and sister, Ruth Pettyjohn.
He survived by his daughter, Patsy Hogue of LaFayette; grandchildren, Robbie (Wesley) Steele, Angela Roe, Melanie “Meme” Pickard, Candy (Jeff) Hill, Donna (John) Smith, Tim (Carla) Henry, Donnie (Amy) Henry, Dorothy Henry, Gerald Henry, James Henry, Bobby Henry, and Lisa Revis; 18 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; brother, Ray Henry of San Antonio, Texas; daughter-in-law, Pam Henry of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Frank Ford officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jeff Hill, Wesley Steele, Aaron Hill, Jimmy Henry, Joe Henry, and Bryan Hill. Honorary pallbearer is Matt Brown.
Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 28, from 5-8 p.m.
