Joe Martin Cook, 81, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Cook graduated from Palmer High School, in Palmer, Tennessee, and then served in the United States Army. 

Joe worked for R.C. Cola Company for many years and after he retired he started his own painting and construction company.

He attended the Venue Church.

He was preceded by his parents, Paul Grady Cook and Maudie Ester Green Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Cook, three daughters, Arlene Thompson, Darlene Pardue, Missy Robinson; one son, Jerry Cook. Joe loved them all as children. The word step or half was not part of his vocabulary. Grandchildren, Ivy Elkanah Thompson and Collier Van Buren Thompson; Brothers, Paul “Sonny” (Joyce) Cook, James (Earlene) Cook; sister, Anna (E.J.) Dishroon, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24, in the chapel of Hamilton 
Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Cook officiating.

Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation will held on Sunday, July 23, from 2-5 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
