Rosalie Andrews McConnell passed away peacefully in Hockessin, Delaware on July 16, 2017.

She was born on August 5, 1924 in Dayton TN and graduated from Girls Preparatory School, Class of 1943, and the University of Chattanooga, Class of 1947, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She worked briefly in Washington, DC during the war and as a reporter for the Chattanooga Times. She married Edward Johnston McConnell Jr. in 1949 and they were transferred to Wilmington with DuPont in 1960.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Edward III (Jeanne), Andrew (Nancy) and Samuel (Chris); her grandchildren Christin (Carey), Emily (Todd), Kelly, Andrew, Mac; her great-grandson Ryker and her  "special son" Bryan Abrams.

Visitation with the family will be held in Chattanooga at Wann Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery.
