Police have charged 22-year-old Kendale Fuqua with an armed robbery on Glendale Parkway.

Michael McClendon said he had just left his mother's house and had stopped at a stop sign near N. Chamberlain Avenue. He said a black male approached him and asked for a ride.

He said he let him get in the car and they went to 2700 Glendale Parkway. When he stopped to let the man out, he pulled out a gun and demanded all his property.

He said if he tried to drive away he would be shot.

He then gave the robber his cell phone and some change.

While the robber was attempting to unlock the phone, the driver tried to drive away. A shot was fired toward his vehicle when he did. It struck the hood directly in front of him.

He said when the man first got into the car he said his name was "Tune." A possible name for Tune was Kendale Fuqua, police said.

The victim picked Fuqua out of a lineup.

He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.
