Police arrested a 54-year-old man for aggressive panhandling outside Ben and Jerry's ice cream parlor near the Aquarium downtown.

Martin Allan Reeves, 53, of 1535 Dodds Ave., was taken to jail after a couple complained.

In the incident on Sunday, the couple said they told Reeves several times they had no money to give him. They said Reeves would not leave them alone.

He stood next to their car and told them to go to an ATM to get him some money.

Reeves was still standing by the couple's car with police arrived.

He claimed he was just asking for help and not money.

Reeves has an extensive criminal record for charges ranging from drugs to driving offenses, theft, assault and criminal trespass.
