Cleveland State Defeats Welch College

  • Monday, September 25, 2017

Cleveland State defeated Welch College 3 sets to 2 on Saturday. The Lady Cougars are now 9-3 on the season.

The final score of the match was:
CSCC:        Welch:

  25       -      20

  17       -      25

  25       -      19

  23       -      25

  15       -       6

Head Coach Randy Evans commented on their win, "Welch is a solid volleyball team that plays hard and doesn't make very many mistakes.

They make sure we earn our points out on the court. Since they are a four-year school, their girls are a little older, a little more experienced and that gave our team a challenge. We are appreciative to play these four-year colleges because it gives our girls a chance at being re-recruited. Our goal is to have our team play volleyball at whatever school they move on to after they graduate from Cleveland State. Overall, I'm proud of the way our girls played tonight, they stayed focused and determined to the very end."

Up next, the Lady Cougars will travel to Lookout Mountain to take on Covenant College. That game is on Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:00 PM.
