James “David” Perry, of Ooltewah, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 after a 12-year battle with cancer.

He graduated from the University of Georgia, where he met his beloved wife, Julie, and spent most of his career working for Unum (formerly Provident). He was an avid UGA football fan who enjoyed traveling, playing golf, woodworking and spending time with his family, including his adored grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Clara Mae Perry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Perry; two children, Meridith Perry and Chris (Lindsey) Perry; one sister, Liz “Sissy” (Charlie) Lee; one brother, Steve (Jean) Perry; two grandchildren, Lucy and Jake; a niece and several nephews.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at Saint Gerard Majella Catholic Church with Father Bill Williams officiating. The family will receive friends 10:30-11 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service on Tuesday.
