Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Deputies were on the scene of a shooting involving a three-year-old child at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The location was near the 7300 block of Valley Lane in Hixson.
The circumstances of the shooting are not known at this time, officials said.
The child was transported to a local hospital and the injures do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
Valley Lane is off of Middle Valley Road.
