Robert “Bobby” Johnson, age 68, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Pines of Commerce Assisted Living in Maysville, Ga. after many years of declining health.

Bobby was born January 6, 1950 in Detroit, Mi., a son of the late Calvin Johnson Sr. and Gladys Morrison Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Johnson.

Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 112 and the Varnell Church of God. 

He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Knickerbocker and Julie Bardsley; son, Robert Johnson Jr. all of Eagle River, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin “Hank” Johnson Jr. and Barbara Johnson of Tunnel Hill; sister, Linda Ramey of Chattanooga; and nieces and nephews. 

Services to celebrate the life of Robert “Bobby” Johnson will be held Sunday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Dallas Parker officiating. He will be laid to rest in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday.
