J. E. Morgan, age 73, of Dalton, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hudson and Thelma Morgan; and four sisters, Claudell Gifford, Linda Elrod, Geraldine Haynes, and Debbie Clayton.

Mr. Morgan loved working outdoors in his garden. He also loved preaching and his family. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Morgan of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Delgadillo, Jennifer and Mark Young, and Jessica and Adam Jennings; a sister, Aileen Ingles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Clementeen Morgan, and Larry and Barbara Morgan; seven grandchildren, Brandon and Alex Delgadillo, Hope Young, and Sarah, Savannah and Aiden Jennings; a special nephew, Dustin Painter.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Morgan, Rev. Clay Sutton, and Melvin Cline officiating. Burial will be in Little Prospect Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 5-8 p.m.
