Charges Pending After Michael Hersheal Long, 63, Barricades Himself In Bradley County Home For 2 Hours

Charges are pending for Michael Hersheal Long, 63, after he barricaded himself at his home in Bradley County on Saturday.

The Bradley County Communications Center received a 911 call at approximately 12:38 p.m. on Saturday, from 372 Belleview Drive southeast, reporting a burglary in progress.

Deputies responding to the call observed Long inside the residence armed with a handgun. He barricaded himself inside a back room of the house.

The Sheriff's Office SWAT team was called to the scene and was able to subdue the Long. Sheriff Eric Watson praised their efforts in being able to bring the incident to a successful conclusion approximately two hours after the initial call was made.

Long was taken to a hospital by ambulance for a check up. At this time charges are pending.
