Jake Hargis, age 17, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Ross; and his uncle, Daniel Cupp.

Jake was a student at Northwest Whitfield High School. He was a talented musician with a beautiful smile who loved God and had a precious, kind spirit. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and his community.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Angela Hargis; two brothers, Ross and Parker Hargis; grandmothers, Dorothy Tipton and Sandra Ross; aunts and uncles, Bill and Nedra Hargis, Chris and Beverly Ross and Lisa and Bob O’Connor.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Noel Caldwell and Rev. Brian Fossett officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Salem Baptist church Thursday from 3 p.m. until the service time at 6 p.m.
