Three women have been arrested after a "push out" theft from Walmart, then a police chase, and attempting to harm police with their vehi8cle.
On Friday night while patrolling an area on Signal Mountain Road, a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputy witnessed a maroon Mustang pass them in the opposite lane driving erratically. The deputy turned around and proceeded to follow the vehicle to investigate. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle for traffic law violations, but the driver fled from law enforcement.
A pursuit began that would lead deputies through Highway 153 to Dayton Pike and several other roads at excessive speeds.
Near the 15,000 block of Dallas Hollow Road, two passengers in the vehicle began to throw items out the car windows including boxes and a suitcase in an effort to dispose of evidence.
At one point during the pursuit, the vehicle’s driver attempted to crash one of the pursuing patrol units. The driver of the vehicle lost control around the 7400 block of Hixson Pike and wrecked. Deputies quickly apprehended the female driver and two female passengers.
The vehicle was found to contain merchandise with anti-theft devices still attached. Deputies contacted the Signal Mountain Walmart and confirmed that these three women conducted a “push out” at their business by loading a cart full of expensive merchandise and then exiting through a fire escape past all points of sale.
The driver of the vehicle, Keoshia Starling was also found to have multiple warrants from surrounding jurisdictions for similar thefts. The two passengers in the Mustang were Kanisha Davis and Kamesha Jones. All three individuals are facing numerous charges.
Keoshia Starling had outstanding warrants for criminal trespass and six counts of theft. She was arrested on new charges of reckless driving, felony reckless endangerment, four counts of felony aggravated assault, and aggravated assault on police.
Kanisha Davis was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on police, tampering with evidence, and felony evading arrest.
Kamesha Jones was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on police, tampering with evidence, and felony evading arrest.
Due to the fact several items were found in the vehicle with anti-theft devices, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is asking for any businesses to come forward who may have experienced similar “push out” related incidents or believe these three suspects may have stolen from their business.Businesses may contact their local law enforcement agency or the HCSO.
