Lorene Lewis Robinson Baldwin, born January 21, 1934, entered the Holy Gates of Heaven on November 20, 2018. She was greeted by her first husband of 28 years, George Robinson and her son, Anthony George Robinson.

Lorene received her formal education in both the Chattanooga Public Schools and Hamilton County Schools, graduating with honors from Booker T. Washington High School.  With a strong thirst for knowledge, she continued her education, earning both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Tennessee State University in Early Childhood Education. 

Lorene pursued her career in Early Childhood Education in the Chattanooga Public School System, retiring after 38 years of service.

Lorene always had very strong faith and beliefs.  She held membership in the Catholic Church for over 60 years attending St. Vincent DePaul, St. Francis, and Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Churches. She often attended mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Chattanooga Chapter of Carats, Inc., Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Couples Club, Tennessee State University Alumni Association, Retired Teachers Association, Life Member of the NAACP, and many other community civic organizations.  For 30 years, she was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital.

Her legacy will continue through her husband, James E. Baldwin Sr.; sons, Vincent D. Robinson and Gregory L. Robinson; daughter-in-law, Demetra B. Robinson; granddaughter, Alexis T. Robinson; great granddaughters, Autumn and Kaylani; sister, Doris Jean Lewis; stepson and wife, James E. (Linda) Baldwin Jr.; stepdaughter, Iris B. Hamilton and adopted family Carlton, Darlene, Anthony and Christiana Hill.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ivy Beyond The Wall ceremony (closed ceremony) will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, at 4 p.m. at Phillips Temple CME Church.  The Carats, Inc. Memorial Ceremony will follow at 4:45 p.m., and the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 5:15-6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
