Christine Estella Harrison Weir, 88, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018.

She was in a local health care facility and was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 12, 1930 in Polk County. 

She was married for 36 years to her loving husband, Luther Weir, who preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1984.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Parker Tinsley Harrison and Estella Harper Harrison and siblings; Byron Harrison, Lillian Wiley, CoraMeta Smiley, Franklin Harrison, R. A. Harrison, Leon Harrison, Fleming Harrison, Francis Bacon, Phyllis Jane Coffey.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister, Juandine Harrison Weir. Her children, Ronnie Weir and wife Judy Weir, Mitchell Weir and wife Marie Weir, Muriel Weir Green and husband Pete Green, grandchildren, Mac Weir and wife Melinda, Christy Weir Edgemon and husband Philip, Amy Philpot Hammer and husband Brian, and Cherie Philpot Stevens and husband Marc, Jacob Parker Weir. Her great grandchildren, Katelyn Cella, Lily Edgemon, Alexis Stevens, Nathan Hammer, Zachary Hammer, Benjamin Stevens and Lauren Hammer and two great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and served the Lord through her work with the children’s ministry. She touched many lives and showed the love of God by caring for others. 

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Tom Wickes officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers.

The family expresses their gratitude to all of the caregivers at Signature Health Care of Cleveland and Avalon Hospice for the excellent care and comfort they provided.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
