Supreme Court Declines Appeal By Former Rhea County Rep. Jim Cobb On DUI Conviction

  • Friday, December 7, 2018

The Tennessee Supreme Court has declined to review the DUI conviction of former Rhea County legislator Jim Cobb.

He apparently will now have to serve time in jail on the charge.

In an incident in September 2015, police said he was driving his truck in the wrong lane on Highway 27 at 1 a.m.

The report said he went off the roadway and then back on.

It said he had slurred speech when he was stopped.

Cobb was charged with assault in 2012, but that was later dismissed.

He lost a close race to current Rep. Ron Travis.
