Ward, Gary Ray (Chickamauga)

  • Wednesday, February 28, 2018

Gary Ray Ward, 68, of Chickamauga, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2018.
He grew up in the Lakeview area and attended Kirkman High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a Master Electrician with IBEW.

He cared for everyone he met and always tried to feed anyone who came to visit. He worked his whole life proudly as an electrician. He loved God and his family. He cherished his friends, and worked hard every day to do right by his family. Always thinking of others, he made light of his own illnesses and comforted his family until he was no longer able. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was married to his high school sweet heart for 46 years, Joyce Ward.

Funeral service will be held at graveside Thursday, March 1 at 11 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements by W. L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe.
