Swafford, Jimie Eloise (Cleveland)

Jimie Eloise Swafford, 86, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018 at Tennova Medical Center in Cleveland.

She was born in Cleveland on September 19, 1931 a daughter of the late Deward Cress and Thelma Tillery Cress. She was baptized at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cleveland where her family was some of the founding members of that church. She enjoyed afternoon pontoon boat rides with her family along the Hiwassee River. Eloise was the living example of “Unconditional Love”. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Melvin Swafford.  

Eloise leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, David Miles Swafford, Thelma Swafford, Frankie Swafford and Melvin Douglas Swafford and his wife April of Knoxville; two stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Hyberger and Maxine Whaley and her husband David; three grandchildren, Callie Grace Swafford, Josiah Franklin Swafford and Charis Faith Swafford; only sister, Karen Keirsey (Stan); two brothers, Kenneth Cress (Brenda) and Mike Cress of Hobesound, Fl.; and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.  

A memorial gathering is planned for Sunday, March 25, from 2-4 p.m. in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN.
