Mark Alfred Hennessee, Jr., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was 81 years old.

A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he graduated from City High School in 1955. He retired as a machinist for Norfolk Southern Railroad after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1140, enjoyed traveling the US with theTennessee Ridge Runners and Mid Atlantic Chapter of American Coach Association friends, and enjoyed former classmates and friends at annual reunions.  He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark A. Sr. and Aline Hennessee, brother, Paul Hennessee, and sister, Joyce Sylar.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Patricia Jane Wilson Hennessee; daughter, Karin E. Hennessee; son, Mark A. Hennessee III and wife Karole; grandson, Mark A. Hennessee, IV, and wife, Brittany; granddaughter, Jill K. Clewey, and husband, Cory; and great-grandsons, Mark A. Hennessee, V., and Callen Jacob Clewey and great-granddaughter, Leah Marie Hennessee; brothers, Wayne, Ray and Terrell Hennessee, of Chattanooga; sisters, Wanda Graham of Charleston, Tn., Linda Campbell of Lawrenceville, Ga., Shirley Moore of Cleveland, Tn., Jane Clay of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 30, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Josh Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
