The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-0 match to Furman in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament at the Championship Club today. The Mocs end the season with a 10-8 overall record, the ninth season in a row with at least 10 victories.
Despite the shutout, the Mocs made it close and were mounting a comeback after dropping the doubles point and five of six first sets in singles. Down 3-0, senior Samantha Caswell was up a set and 4-4 in the second when the match was clinched.
At the bottom of the lineup, freshman Bogdana Zaporozhets was about to even her match, up 5-2 in the second. Likewise, junior Tamri Chalaganidze was leading in the second set of her bout at No.

Freshman Emma Van Hee was also down a set, but up 3-2 in the second. She eventually gave up the deciding point (6-4, 6-3) to Georgie Walker to snap a personal four-match winning streak.
