Ethel Blankinship Brown, 95, a native of Polk County and a resident of Bradley County for the past 85 years, passed from this life into her new life in Heaven on Sunday, July 15, 2018. She was at home with family by her side.

She was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. She was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She had been a volunteer in the church’s Manna Ministry. She worked several years with Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company, and Bradley Memorial Hospital. She and her husband owned and operated Paul Brown’s Truck Stop and Restaurant on Highway 64 from 1959 until 1969. During these years, she also owned and operated a business named: The Twig Shoe and Hat Box located on Ocoee Street in downtown Cleveland. In 1969, she began working for the Tennessee Department of Human Services as a “pool typist”, but years later she retired as a supervisor over the AFDC (Aid To Families with Dependent Children) Program within the Department of Human Services.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1922, in Old Fort, Tn., to Charles C. Blankinship and Susie Green Blankinship McQueen, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death in 1989 by her husband Paul A. Brown Sr., her sister Eva Sue Park, and her brother C.C .Blankinship, Jr.; three half-sisters: Brownie Fulbright, Essie Lyle, and Margret Riddle; two half-brothers: A.B. Blankinship and Spence Blankinship.

She is survived by daughters: Josette Lewis McTaggart of Benton, TN, Linda Mosayebi-Tracy (James), Leesa Hoskins (Charlie), Debbie Brown Blankinship (Robert St.Clair) and sons Paul A. Brown, Jr. (Stacy Mark) and Charles (Chuck) W. Brown all of Cleveland. Grandchildren: Bobby Don Lewis Jr. (Nora), Alan Lewis (Christy), Zahra Mosayebi, Andrea Kincannon (Bradley), Zach Mosayebi (Lindsay), Nathan Brown (Sarah Beth), Natalie Brown (Jason Ladd), Cody Hoskins, Megan Hoskins, Tonya Hughes (Reece), Kevin Blankinship (Dee Dee). Former Son-in-law M.R. (Rah) Mosayebi. Great-grandchildren: Tyler Lewis, Haley Lewis, Krystilyn Peterson (Blake), Rachael Lewis, Cheyenne Bell, Jerrod Bell, Eva Lewis, Lane Lewis, Kazah Whittaker, Tessa Mosayebi, Jacob Mosayebi, Eleanor Mosayebi, Rhett Brown, Elias Brown, Marlee Kincannon, Chanda Hughes, Brooklyn Hughes, and Brandon Hughes. One Great-Grandchild: Gracyn Knighten and another one is expected later this year; and several nieces, nephews and an abundance of wonderful friends. She loved God, family, and friends and always had a smile for everyone.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for Ethel B. Brown will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 20, at First Baptist Church of Cleveland, with the Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

The interment will follow in Hilcrest Cemetery with her grandsons, Bobby Lewis, Jr., Alan Lewis, Zach Mosayebi, Nathan Brown, Cody Hoskins, and her nephew Gary Park serving as pallbearers.
