U.S. Air Force Veteran Enjoyed Fishing, Boating, Photography, And Home Repairs

William S. Dixon, 84, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, August 9, 2018.

William was the son of the late Otto and Willena Fulton Dixon. He was a member of the American Legion, the DAV and Grace Communion International. William served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, boating, computer photography and home and mechanical repairs. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Dixon.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Carol Dixon; son, William Christopher “Chris” Dixon; daughter, Susan Dixon Simmons and her husband, C. Scott “Buddy” Simmons; grandchildren, C. Scott “Scotty” Simmons and Stephen A. Simmons; great-grandchild, Jayson A. “Jay” Simmons; brother, Glen Dixon; sisters, Patricia “Pat” Williams, Connie Bradford and Betty Teems; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dennis Wheatcroft officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
