Betty Miller Potts, 87, of Hixson, died on Monday, August 20, 2018, from a battle with cancer. 

Betty was a feisty, spunky little lady who never met a stranger. She was born June 26, 1931 to the late Alfred and Nessie Miller. Mrs. Potts was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School.  She was retired from DuPont. She was a member of Burks United Methodist Church and the Eldridge Sunday School Class.

Her husband of 60 years, Alvin Potts, her parents, and sister, Bobbie Reed, preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her three children, Dennis (Jackie) Potts, Linda (David) Smalley, and Sandra (Jim) Shirk; grandchildren, Corey Potts, Brandon Potts, Tyler Smalley, Cameron Smalley, Owen Shirk, Anna Shirk; ten great-grandchildren,; sister,  Bonnie Gravitte, and brother, Bernard Miller.  Also, Jack Frost, who was her best friend and companion for the last several years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home with Pastor Al Goss and Dr. Tony Collins officiating.

Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
